I ♥ Drugstore Makeup Tag!

 Drugstore Makeup Tag!

So today something a bit different, a makeup tag! Hope you enjoy!

1. What is your favourite drugstore makeup brand overall?
It would definitely have to be Rimmel London as they literally have such a good range of everything like mascaras (scandal eyes) and amazing lip products.

2. What are your favourite face, cheek and lip products?
Ooh, face would be Rimmel London Wake Me Up foundation and concealer but unfortunately now my skin has got lighter I can't wear the foundation now but when I did I LOVED it. Cheek would be the Sleek Contour Kit and Lip products would definitely be the Revlon lip butters as they are so moisturising and amazingly pigmented!

3. Least favourite product?
DEFINITELY the Maybelline Color Sensational the Pop Sticks in Citrus Slice as it has no colour and is totally NOT moisturising at all! OR Bourjois Smokey eyes in Rose Vintage as it is so dusty and so un-pigmented!

4. What is the best makeup bargain?
Sleek Palettes! Highly recommend these as they are so inexpensive and amazingly pigmented!

5. What is your favourite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?)
Number 7 Products - such high quality makeup and always under looked

6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?
Max Factor 3 in 1 foundation, so expensive for £11.99 and NOT worth it

7. Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!!
One in the Storm Palette - similar to Mac Wood winked

8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?
I'm sorry to say it but Rimmel Retro Glam Mascara. Defo not worth the hype :(

Maybelline The Falsies

Maybelline The Falsies

I haven't posted for ages, sorry about that! I am currently writing whilst watching my favourite show at the moment called Ugly Betty which you can find here. So todays review is on Maybelline's The Falsies!

WOW! This mascara is absolutely AMAZING! I have to admit that I was sceptical at first but once I tried I fell in love with it! It is super voluminous which I love in a mascara and has a brush applicator which is so gentle on the eyes. This mascara is so inexpensive, which makes it so great. I will continue to keep on buying this mascara as I LOVE it!

Hope you enjoyed!

L'OREAL Collection Privee by Cheryl Cole and Eva Longoria

(Cheryl's Greige Glow and Eva's Peach Sin)

L'OREAL Collection Privee by Cheryl Cole and Eva Longoria

First of all can I just say how much I look up to these two beautiful women. Unlike a lot of people I absolutely LOVE her and her music, and for Eva I think she is so gorgeous and I loved her in Desperate Housewives! So when I saw that these had come out I was so excited! I absolutely adore the way they're all nudes, so these can be worn day to day and the fact that

this is going to be such a beautiful winter look. I love the packaging, completely black  with the signature L'OREAL logo on the top. These look phenomenal! They are highly pigmented and give a gorgeous moisturising finish! For £8.19 each these are beautiful, and expensive for high street lipsticks. I super super love these and they are so worth the price! If you love nudes and love L'OREAL go and put these in your boots bag! I would so recommend these! TEN OUT OF TEN! Thank you for reading!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

Well first off one thing that annoys me about this concealer is that it is way way way lighter than the foundation! But if I am honest I wish they would make the foundations in lighter shades:( But anyway I use this concealer everyday and I absolutely LOVE IT! It really has a 'wake up' effect under the eyes and on blemishes. It is so inexpensive which is great for high street brands and I do really just love it. It seriously does do what it says on the tube - WAKES YOU UP! This is amazing I really do recommend this! Go buy it here, hope you enjoyed:D

Essie nail lacquer in 'play date'

Review on: Essie nail lacquer in 'play date'

Out of all the colours from Essie that I could have chosen from, I chose the most BORING purple there is. First of I must say that I love the big brushes that come with these nail varnishes as they make it so much easier to apply it. If anything I do love these nail varnishes, this colour is so boring and not a good colour to get! This nail varnish lasts really well, and they have such an amazing range of colours to choose from. The price is quite expensive but they are good quality!

Overall view: Worst colour to choose, but are amazing quality!

Benefit they're real mascara

Review on: Benefit they're real mascara

I absolutely LOVE this mascara! Being 'Benefit' the price comes to £19.50, which is a big price compared to drugstore mascaras. This mascara definitely volumises my lashes, but also makes them sticky so i can not curl mu eyelashes after, until a long wait. This is a lovely product to use! The brush is long and thin, with lots of tiny bristles along it and a big circular wand at the end which makes it a lot easier to get the end lashes. This is an expensive mascara but I would say it is definitely worth saving up for!

Overall view: Amazing mascara, if you feel like spoiling yourself try it out!
Recommend or not: Recommend!

Max Factor Face Finity Foundation

Review on: Max Factor Face Finity Foundation

I had very high hopes for this foundation, and when I tried it I found that it was okay. The bottle states that it is a 'Primer, Concealer and Foundation in One' but if I am honest it doesn't work as a primer or concealer. This has good coverage, and is quite a heavy coverage. This product doesn't have a very nice fragrance, which is a real downer for me. This does have SPF 20 which is useful to protect your skin from the sun. The price comes in at £11.99 which is quite expensive for a drugstore foundation, and I would say that it is not worth that price, as it is just a good, average foundation.

Overall view: An average, normal foundation which is okay, but is not worth £11.99.
Recommend or not: Not, find another one for a better price like the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss

Review on: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in 'Kiss me coral'

This is a beautiful shimmery coral colour, presented in a clear tube. I was really excited to try this as Tanya Burr has absolutely loved it, but when I tried this cosmetic I was totally disappointed with it! Again this product is incredibly dewy, sticky and heavy and doesn't last for long after applying. This product isn't very pigmented and again isn't very pigmented, which is a real disappointment as I thought this product would have been better. I bought this on the two for £10 deal in Boots, but on its own it is £6.99 which is an incredible amount for this product!

Overall view: Heavy and sticky on the lips, not very pigmented, the only upside of it as it is not very pigmented.
Recommend or not: Not!

Revlon Color Stay Ultimate Suede

Review on: Revlon Color Stay Ultimate Suede in 'Womenswear'

This product is £8.99 and I can officially say that it is dry and does not moisturise my lips. Actually it does the exact opposite! This lipstick is a gorgeous shade, a pearly pink which looks so so pretty, but when I applied this to my lips it was so so dry and did not moisturise my lips! It has a very dewy texture and is quite sticky. I was totally and utterly disappointed in this product as this is such a gorgeous colour.

Overall view: Dry, sticky and drying on the lips. This cosmetic is not worth £9.
Recommend or not: No this is not worth a whopping £9!

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Nail Varnish

Review on: Estee Lauder Pure Colour Nail Varnish in 'Sweet Pea'

Okay, this product comes in at £14 which is quite pricey for a nail varnish. But this is such a beautiful colour that I definitely think that it was worth it. The colour is a gorgeous dark royal pink with shimmers of silver running through it. This colour is so so pretty and I don't think I have ever seen a colour like this from a drugstore brand. I love the packaging, it definitely stood out to me when I was shopping for cosmetics. Estee Lauder products are simply stunning and lovely, but are also very pricey! This product lasted a very long time on my nails without getting chipped. I absolutely LOVE this product, it has such a summery shade and it worth the £14 pounds in my opinion!

Overall view: A gorgeous, summery colour with incredibly high quality!
Recommend or not: Its simply stunning so yes recommend!

PALMERS Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Butter

Review on: PALMERS Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Butter

First off I must say that this products SMELLS AMAZING. It smells of Peppermint and Dark Chocolate, which may not be to your taste but is to mine, and I LOVE it. The feel on the lips is quite heavy and dense, which isn't such a good point but does moisturise the lips once it is rubbed in. I think for me it's the smell that makes me love it so much, and if you like the smell of Peppermint and Dark Chocolate I recommend you go and buy this! Palmers is such a great brand, and I absolutely LOVE their products and their individuality! This product comes in at £2.75, which is a little over priced I think for this product.

http://www.superdrug.com/hydrated-skin/palmers-lip-butter-dark-chocolate/invt/371297

Overall view: Amazing smell, quite heavy but once rubbed in is moisturising!
Recommend or not: If you like the smells!

Nivea Extra Gentle Eye Makeup Remover & Refreshing Toner

Nivea Extra Gentle Eye Makeup Remover & Refreshing Toner

Recently I have learnt that cleansing your face with a makeup wipe is NOT the way to get clear and happy skin, so I have invested into trying ALOT of new skin care products.

One of the products I have invested into are the Nivea Extra Gentle Eye Makeup Remover which is a really inexpensive and nice product to use. I try to alternate between different eye makeup removers, as I also use my Clarins range (which I LOVE) but these are also really good! This comes in a really convenient size (125ml) and has a refreshing smell to it. It is so gentle on the eyes as it's not to heavy, and it is really easy to use. It leaves a non-greasy area and is enriched with Provitamin B5. This product comes in at £3.39, which is a really good price as this product really does do what it says on the bottle!

Another product I bought was the Nivea Refreshing Toner which I apply after using my Clarins Water Comfort One Step Cleanser (which is AMAZING) and before my moisturiser. It has a lovely cold feel to the skin removing any residue that the cleanser didn't get and really helps my skin to have a more healthy glow. This toner contains Vitamin E and HYDRA IQ and does leave my skin feeling completely cleansed. I like to think of a toner as a full stop to my cleaning regime. This also has a refreshing scent to it, and comes in a 200ml bottle. This product comes to £3.59, which is a small price to pay for such a good product!

Overall view: Both products are amazing and so kind to the skin and leave my skin with a healthy glow.
Recommend or not? A definite recommend!

BENEFIT BEAUTY HAUL

Benefit Beauty Haul

Okay so this isn't the best picture of everything I got but I will tell you more. First off I got:
How to look the best at everything in light, which contains:
1. the POREfessional
2.Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW foundation
3. Boi-ing in 01 and 02
4.'Me, Vain?' powder and a small black soft benefit brush

This cost £25.50 in Boots - http://www.boots.com/en/Benefit-How-to-Look-the-Best-at-Everything-Light_1281386/

Next I bought a little box of two samples from boots called 'Coral my world' which contains: CORALista blusher and a Sun Beam in a small bottle from boots, which cost £9.50 but are not sold online!

Benefit products are highly expensive so I purchased these to see if they are worth it, as Benefit also displays its products with amazing looks. I would definitely recommend getting the little 'Coral My World' from Boots as it is so good to try out their products instead of buying the full priced ones!

Thankyou for reading, and there will be a review on these soon!

So this was my first ever Topshop nail varnish and I can confirm that I absolutely loooooooove it! This has such an amazing effect, looks so pretty and sophisticated. I love the design and I think that this was worth £6! If you like nail art then go out and purchase this as it is amazing!

Overall view: Such a gorgeous holographic nail colour!

Garnier Moisture Match

Review on: Garnier Moisture Match - 'Dry to very dry' and 'Normal skin'

First of all - I have absolutely no idea why I bought the 'dry skin moisturiser' as I don't actually have dry skin! I do find this one very tight on my face and it doesn't sink in quickly either. I use the 'normal skin' moisturiser as a day to day one, as it sets in fleetly and has SPF 20. I love the feel of this one on my face and it smells lovely!

Overall view: Great as a day to day moisturisers (depending on your skin type), smells good and feels soft and easy to put on.

L'OREAL Paris Color Riche Crazy Fuchsia and Pink Passion

Review on: L'OREAL Paris Color Riche (left) Crazy Fuchsia and Pink Passion

These are just so pigmented and good. Sorry for the blunt start, but I absolutely LOVE these! First point - these are so appealing to the eye, as they are GOLD and when I am shopping in boots, this really catches my eye. Second point - they are so pigmented and frankly they smell nice!

Crazy Fuchsia is a gorgeous baby pink

Pink Passion is a more coral pearly pink

Overall view: I LOVE these, they are perfectly pigmented and feel smooth and creamy on the lips

Accessorize Bronzing Block

Review on: Accessorize Bronzing Block
Colour reviewed: Shade 4

This is a gorgeous bronzer/blusher that comes out as a orange fresh colour on my skin. I have been wearing this regularly, as I love the colour on my face. This comes to about £6-£7 pounds in uk, which I think is a reasonable price as this colour is so summery and gives the skin a fresh and renewed look. I find that this is a bit of a copy of the 'Benefit' blushers/bronzers, as it comes in a box. I LOVE the packaging, and this did influence if I bought it or not, as it's just so beautiful. It comes with a tiny round brush, which I find does tug on my skin.

Overall view: LOVE this bronzer/ blusher block! Perfect for summer.

L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection BB Cream

Review on: L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection BB Cream
Colour reviewed: Fair

I purchased this for five pounds in Roman Road London, and I'm not 100% sure its the real thing! I don't really seem to gel with bb creams, as I just don't think they feel or look that good on my skin, but I thought that this was such a bargain that I had to! Now I think that this is incredibly heavy on my skin, making me look even more tired then I already do, and also I find that it has an oily texture - making it hard to blend into the skin. It gives of a nice fragrance, but makes the skin feel slippy due to the oiliness! I'd say that the packaging was the upside for me as I love the white to dark pink ombre!

Overall view: Oily and heavy on the skin, doesn't give great coverage but okay for a fiver!

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation

Review on: Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation
Colour Reviewed: 100 Ivory

This is such a fabulous foundation. It gives even coverage, has an incredible long lasting wear and doesn't feel to heavy on the skin. I think that this foundation gives a lovely matte finish without feeling to heavy on my skin - as I find foundations usually do. I was also drawn to the design of this cosmetic, as it has out there colours like orange to catch the buyers eye. This product smells really nice and feels so smooth on my skin and lasts for about 9 hours, which I thought was perfect for long days at school coming this winter.

Overall view: Amazing foundation, I will definitely be buying this one again!

Maybelline Baby Lips

Review on: Maybelline Baby Lips
Colours reviewed: 005 and 030

I LOVE these! They are so good! I apply them daily just before I put on my lipstick, and they leave my lips feeling so silky and smooth. I think that 005 (Top left) is like a primer for my lips and 030 is like a moisturiser with a tint for when I want to wear something light. I think that the packaging is incredibly appealing, which I must say did influence my decision.

Overall view: These leave lips feeling silky and soft, and are perfect for all occasions.

Clean&Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion

Review on: Clean&Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion

I have been to London this week and I felt like I had been wearing so much makeup throughout the day that I really needed to be kind to my skin instead of just removing it with a makeup wipe, so I brought this for £2.99 in Superdrug.

Now the first thing that comes to mind when I think of this is the smell. This product has a very intense smell of antibacterial. It is so so strong and almost completely puts me off this product. I also find that this cleansing lotion burns my skin, obviously not scolding but it gives of such a chemical smell and feel to it that I almost find it to overbearing to use! But I do mix it with water, which really does make it easier to use, and it does clean of any makeup, but unfortunately this cant go ANY where near your eyes which is a real let down for me.

Overall view: Powerful chemical smell which makes it incredibly hard to use and tingles the skin.

L'Oreal Paris Rouge Caresses Lipstick

Review on: L'Oreal Paris Rouge Caresses Lipstick
Colour reviewed: 301 - Dating Coral

This is a moisturising tinted lip balm, which is gorgeously pigmented and is so smooth on the lips. I love this cosmetic so much, it is so nice to wear on a summer day, as it is light. I would say that this particular lipstick is worth the full price, which is £7.99. I absolutely love this coral colour as it is so so summery!

Overall view: Gorgeously moisturising and perfectly pigmented.

Bourjois Paris Blush

Review on: Bourjois Paris Blush
Colour Reviewed: 37 Rose Pompon

I am currently staying in London with my sister, and am changing my make-up around a bit, trying to wear things that I haven't worn for a long time. I am going to try and wear more make-up, as the sun's impact has gone down here! I am going to be blogging more, doing my daily make-up routine and more.
This is a gorgeous light baby pink, which is perfect for a light skin tone. It has a gorgeous matte finish (without shimmer) which I think is a really pretty gentle make-up look. I find this quite hard to apply, as it doesn't come out of the pot very easily which really doesn't , but once applied it looks so beautiful. It has a nice perfume, which does make it nicer to use. The price comes to £7.99 which I think is extortionate! I would recommend the price to be £6.99!

Overall view: A gorgeous colour, with gentle pigment, but it is incredibly hard to get out of the pot and is extortionately priced!

Garnier Ambre Solaire Light Bronzer

Review on: Garnier Ambre Solaire Light Bronzer
Colour Reviewed: Light

I am really fussy about fake tan - as I can never seem to do it properly! I've been looking for a spray bronzer for a while, and Garnier has always been an well known amazing brand, so when I saw this half price in Boots, I couldn't resist. And I must say that this is a fabulous product! It does dry very quickly and it isn't to sticky, which I find a lot of bronzer's are. I think that if you apply it right this can be a perfect bronzer. I also used this on my face - going diagonally and evenly three times in strokes, and it gave an even coverage, with a couple of streaks but hey no bronzer is perfect. When I purchased this it was half price in Boots and is still on if you are reading this close to when I posted this!

Overall view: Really nice bronzer for summer, comes out in a scented mist, and if is applied evenly can be the perfect tan.

Bourjois Paris Magic Nail Polish Remover

Review on: Bourjois Paris Magic Nail Polish Remover

This is an essential for doing nails! I usually hate having to take off my nail varnish with loads and loads of cotton wool pads, so this is exactly what I need! It is so so easy to remove your nail varnish off with! I would say that it does take longer than 1 second to remove all of the nail varnish, but it is still absolutely amazing! Its so easy to carry around, not too heavy and in a secure, small bottle. It has a strong scent, which I do get sick of, but that really doesn't bother me much! It is made out of natural products, instead of full of paraben, it is acetone and paraben free! The price for this comes to £4.99, which I think is such a reasonable price for this outstanding product!

Overall view: This is such fantastic product, which I LOVE because it saves me from cotton wool and stinky nail varnish remover bottles!

Collection Sheer Loose Powder

Review on: Collection Sheer Loose Powder

This little pot comes full of powder foundation, which I find incredibly useful in summer, as I find foundation to heavy and hot to wear. This gives even coverage, isn't to expensive, and feels smooth and gentle on the skin. I absolutely love this for summer, it just has such a nice feel on the skin. I do find that this cosmetic is hard to apply, as it is a 'loose powder', it goes absolutely all over the place! The price comes to £2.99, which I think is an amazing price for this little beauty!

Overall view: Perfect for an even complexion, gives full and even coverage and is a necessity for your make up bag!

Essie Nail Lacquer

Review on: Essie Nail Lacquer
Colour reviewed: Play Date 18

This gorgeous little pot of nail paint, which is amazingly long lasting and does not chip easily is perfect for summer. It comes with a big brush - which makes it easy to apply to the nails. The texture isn't gloopy, which when I put on a second coat, creates a smooth and perfect overlay. I do think that this product is over priced; for one bottle the price comes to £7.99, which is paying for quality, as this nail varnish is amazing, but is still a high price for a varnish.

Overall view: Amazing nail varnish, a little overpriced, but is great quality and has a long wear effect.

Rimmel London Apocalips

Review on: Rimmel London Apocalips
Colours reviewed: Big bang, Stellar, Apocaliptic, Celestial and Luna

In my opinion these are gorgeous colours, which are perfect for long summer days. They are are a lipstick gloss. They come in eight pretty shades, five of which are displayed in the image above. In my opinion these are okay. The colours are stunning, but unfortunately  a while after they are applied to the lips, they turn a funny texture, which makes your lips look crusty. They do leave a lovely tint, but unfortunately these aren't all they make out to be. But they do make very pretty lipsticks as long as they are applied regularly and are rubbed in!

Overall view: Gorgeous colours, but not a very nice texture, which doesn't have a long lasting effect.

First I have to say that this is one of my favourite mascaras I have ever had. It comes with a curved brush, with evenly spread bristles. This makes it so easy to scoop the eyelashes up, to give an incredible length effect. I think that the packaging is also incredibly appealing, which really makes it stand out amongst all of the rest.

These nail varnishes come in eighteen different shades of beautiful summery colours. I love these! They are soft colours that have a gorgeous finish. The brush is small, but a good size which makes painting the nail easier. I usually do two coats to give a more long-lasting look. I LOVE these little pots so so much, they are just so perfect for summer. The only down side of these are that they chip easily :(

Garnier 5 Second Perfect Blur Primer

Review on: Garnier 5 Second Perfect Blur Primer

I can honestly say that this is an amazing product, that I am so glad I brought. This product comes in beautiful and appealing packaging, which I must say did encourage me to buy this, with a gorgeous hot pink background. The bottle itself is a pearly light pink, with rouge writing. The product comes with detailed directions on how to use this product, which I found did help me. The cosmetic comes out in a creamy cloudy cream, which is so so smooth when is applied on face. I put this on after my daily moisturiser. This makes my foundation, and other cosmetics go on so much easier! I absolutely LOVE this SO SO MUCH!
